As a Senior Scientist in this position, you will be part of the Aerosol Physics and Environmental Physics Group around Professor Bernadett Weinzierl. The Aerosol Physics and Environmental Physics (AEP) Group at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Vienna combines highly-sophisticated laboratory, ground-based and aircraft experiments with innovative modelling to study the fundamental physical and chemical properties of aerosol particles and clouds. Current research focuses on related but different areas of aerosol science and covers the whole size spectrum from the nano- to the microscale. We are looking for a motivated Senior Scientist to extend our team.  The position is limited to the duration of an employee's absence due to parental part-time employment (July 2027). If the employee is not returning full time, the position can be extended by mutual agreement. Your future tasks: You will be involved in unique ground-based and airborne research projects in collaboration with top scientific institutions such as NASA and NOAA as well as large-scale aircraft measurement campaigns (e. g. SABRE, INSPYRE, and others). You will be in the field for large-scale aircraft measurement campaigns including SABRE, INSPYRE, and others (typically several weeks per year). Your research will focus on airborne in-situ observations of coarse mode aerosols and clouds. You will contribute to the organization and implementation of ground-based and airborne field campaigns. You will develop novel methods e.g. for the calibration of in-situ aerosol cloud probes including a droplet generator, and analyze data from airborne and ground-based field experiments. You will independently teach courses as defined by the collective agreement, and contribute to the (co-) supervision of students. You will contribute to the success and self-organization of the group for research, help with some administrative tasks and participate in evaluation measures and quality assurance. You will contribute to outreach by international publications, conference presentations and public activities. Essential Academic and/or industrial experience in design and managing digital supply chain solutioning and supply chain management. Having a background and interest in one or more fields of digital supply chain, including but not limited to digital supply chain transformation, digital manufacturing, E-procurement, E-commerce, E-logistics. Experience and knowledgeable in one or more areas of supply chain operations management, risk management and operations research, such as demand forecasting, inventory control, procurement, manufacturing, distribution, warehouse and transportation simulation, optimization and management. Motivated to develop and to teach curriculum in supply chain sustainability. Strong demonstration of interest to develop supply chain security, supply chain digital twin, and artificial intelligence solutions through applied research projects. Desirable Good knowledge in digital supply chain-related technologies such as AI, LLMs, Cyber Security, IoT, 3D printing, automation, supply chain security, digital twins, and block chains. The role works closely with Executive and senior leaders to lead the development of high-quality education solutions, overseeing project implementation and monitoring in collaboration with delivery clusters, learning and teaching, student services and global engagement teams. A key responsibility is ensuring a seamless transition from the project bid phase to implementation, aligned with broader College and Portfolio priorities. You will lead the development, co-design and implementation of innovative training initiatives alongside College and Portfolio teams. This includes conducting needs analysis to identify stakeholders and learner requirements, and collaborating with internal and external partners to co-create fit-for-purpose education solutions that leverage CoVE's product suite and learning and teaching expertise. You will also lead learning model development by repurposing existing products to enable scalable and flexible delivery across online, hybrid and workplace-based contexts. The role is responsible for designing end-to-end solution architecture, including delivery pathways, resources and system requirements, while assessing feasibility, operational readiness, financial modelling and delivery risks. You will establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks, including KPIs and reporting mechanisms, to track progress, timelines, budget and impact for Executive stakeholders. Continuous innovation and improvement are central to the role, applying agile and best-practice approaches to refine and future-proof education solutions. To be successful in this position, you'll have / you'll have as a minimum: Experience in Education or Training Solution Design -experience designing effective education or workforce training solutions through adapting existing products, frameworks and delivery models (e.g. accredited courses, micro credentials, short courses) to meet stakeholder requirements. Strategic use of existing capabilities - ability to leverage and adapt existing training products, services and capabilities to meet client or industry needs Stakeholder Engagement - ability to work independently to identify stakeholder needs, communicate with influence, and facilitate effective co-design with a diverse range of stakeholders.
