Founded in 2003 by a merger of two universities in the cities of Duisburg and Essen, we are one of the youngest universities in Germany and this comparative youth allows us to seek and pursue fresh ways of looking at things. Walking across the two campuses of the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE), you are likely to meet scientists, scholars and students who have come to the UDE from all over the world. The African Genome Center (AGC) is seeking to appoint an open-rank faculty member specializing in Population Genomics. This position focuses on investigating genetic variation within and among populations to understand genetic diversity, evolutionary processes, and population dynamics that shape the genomic composition of species. Applicants should demonstrate strong expertise in analyzing population-level genomic data, enabling insights into the distribution and frequency of genetic variation, as well as the ecological, evolutionary, and demographic factors influencing population structure. The successful candidate is expected to have an outstanding publication record in population genomics or closely related fields. In addition, candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach to developing an independent research program, strong collaborative skills, and evidence of interdisciplinary research engagement. This position is embedded within a highly interdisciplinary research environment and offers opportunities to interact with researchers across diverse domains, including genome editing, natural product chemistry, microbial engineering, agricultural and environmental biotechnology, metabolic engineering, and microbiology, among others. Responsibilities The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate include: Supervising graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in population genomics, molecular genetics, and evolutionary biology. Developing and leading collaborative research initiatives in population genomics, with a particular focus on African species. Contributing to institutional research activities, academic programs, and broader scientific and training initiatives. Eligibility Criteria Applicants must meet the following requirements: A PhD in population genomics, molecular genetics, evolutionary biology, or a closely related field. Postdoctoral research experience is highly preferred. Demonstrated expertise in population genomics, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications and funded or competitive research projects. Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules. Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs Job Requirements A Master’s degree in Radiography or related field. Possessing a PhD will be an added advantage. Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in the acute / community / other clinical rehabilitation setting. Possess clinical experience and competence in Radiography. Having expertise in general radiography or other area of specialization (e.g., MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Angiography and Fluoroscopy) is preferred. Knowledge and experience in working with simulated healthcare institution and community environment and educational manikins will be advantageous. Extensive experience and knowledge of industry practices to bring industry perspective to SIT. Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.

Description Location Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Description The Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a motivated Research engineer to work under the supervision of Dr. Marwa Chafii on Channel Modeling for integrated sensing and communication (ISAC). Responsibilities: Lead the design, setup, and execution of ISAC channel measurement campaigns across multiple environments, hardware platforms, and frequency bands Develop, validate, and document ISAC channel modeling methodologies tailored to the lab’s hardware/software testbed. Integrate SDRs (e.g., USRPs, RFSoC) and RF front-ends (FR2, FR3, V-band) into end-to-end ISAC demonstrators. Implement and optimize advanced signal processing algorithms for joint communication and sensing. Analyze experimental datasets, extract statistical models, and compare findings across environments, hardware, and frequency bands. Collaborate with PhD students, postdocs, and faculty on joint projects, ensuring experimental results support theoretical work. Co-author scientific publications in IEEE journals and conferences, and contribute to open datasets/methodologies for the research community. Requirements: Education: Ph.D. (preferred) or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a closely related field. SDR Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with SDRs (USRP, RFSoC, or equivalent). FPGA programming experience is a plus.
