Location: Katherine / Jawoyn, Dagoman and Wardaman Country View Position Description About the Role This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a skilled remote and Indigenous health workforce in the Northern Territory. As a Lecturer in Remote Health (Allied Health), you will draw on contemporary professional practice to deliver high‑quality teaching, support students on placement, and engage in research that strengthens evidence‑based practice in rural and remote settings. Working as part of an interprofessional education team, you will collaborate closely with community stakeholders and health education partners across the NT and SA to expand pathways into health professions and support the growth of culturally safe, community‑aligned healthcare education. Facilitate inspiring, evidence-informed teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including placement education and topic coordination. Contribute to high-quality research and evaluation in rural, remote, and Indigenous health, including publications, grant activity, and student research supervision. Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities and stakeholders to enhance recruitment, education pathways, and collaborative health initiatives. Support interprofessional workforce development by contributing to allied health programs, expansion activities, and ongoing program quality and accreditation. About You You are an experienced and culturally responsive health professional and educator who brings strong academic capability, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to improving rural and remote health outcomes. You thrive in collaborative, interprofessional environments and are passionate about fostering inclusive, culturally safe learning experiences for students and communities. With a solid foundation in research and evidence-informed practice, you’re ready to contribute to teaching, research, community engagement, and ongoing program development. Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality teaching, contribute to curriculum design, and engage effectively with students across diverse educational settings. A developing or established research track record, including publications, grant activity, and an understanding of research–teaching integration. Strong knowledge of rural and remote health issues, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, and the ability to practice and communicate in a culturally safe manner. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, colleagues, and a wide range of health professionals. Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT At Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT, our aim is to be a hub for innovative health research, education, and workforce development across the Northern Territory.  We engage with students, community, and stakeholders to provide critical programs, such as the Northern Territory Medical Program, Paramedicine, Rural Clinical School, and the University Department of Rural Health. Our postgraduate education pathways (Remote Health Practice program), provides workforce development through Indigenous health and clinical skills training, and we have a community driven research program led by researchers committed to improving health outcomes. The Role and the Department Research and Innovation Services (RIS) provides guidance, expert advice and hands-on support for all aspects of research and research-related work, including securing funding, working with partners, undertaking knowledge exchange, demonstrating impact, commercialising outputs, ensuring good research practice and supporting professional development. We are seeking a Post Award Finance and Project Officer to join our Post Award Team within Research Operations to support a colleagues maternity leave. You will deliver comprehensive post-award financial and administrative support, ensuring that project leaders and researchers receive timely, expert advice. Your responsibilities will span the full grant lifecycle, from award acceptance and project setup, through financial monitoring and budget management, to final claims, reconciliation, project closure, and preparation for both internal and external audits. Stakeholder engagement is at the core of this role. You will act as the primary point of contact for internal and external partners, facilitating clear communication and effective coordination across departments and funding bodies. You will also regularly review project budgets, income, and expenditure to maintain accuracy and to identify and address any significant variances such as under- or overspending, ineligible costs, or issues with overhead recovery. The postholder has the following key responsibilities: Manage the post-award financial administration of non-research grants, ensuring accurate and timely closure. Prepare and submit financial claims, invoices, and statements in line with funder and institutional deadlines. Monitor budgets, income, and expenditure, identifying and resolving variances, and providing financial forecasts to project leads. Reconcile project accounts, process final expenditure and exchange rate journals, and ensure accurate allocation of income. Ensure compliance with funder terms and conditions, advising stakeholders on eligible expenditure and removing ineligible costs. Coordinate staff approvals with HR, ensuring alignment with project budgets and funder requirements. Calculate and transfer fEC overheads/indirect costs in accordance with approved budgets. Liaise with internal teams (Finance, HR, Departments) and external stakeholders (funders, HEIs, partners) to resolve queries. Maintain accurate, auditable records and ensure financial systems reflect final approved expenditure. Working pattern: Monday - Friday. Hybrid 2 days in the office.
