IU International University of Applied Sciences is a private, state-recognised university of business and management in Germany. It was founded in the city of Bad Honnef but has now expanded to have campuses in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt am Main, Dusseldorf, Bremen, Bad Honnef, Bad Reichenhall and Erfurt. It was founded in 1998 and brings together three forms of higher education under one organisation. These three branches are IU School of Business and Management, IU Dual Studies, and IU Distance Learning. The School of Business and Management offers bachelor's, master's, and MBAs in international management, marketing management, hospitality management, event management, aviation management, transport and logistics, and international business. IU Dual Studies allow students to complete a practice-oriented dual study programme. Courses are offered in healthcare, human resources, industry and logistics, marketing, real estate, tax and auditing and tourism. IU Distance Learning offers over 150 certificate programmes with flexible learning models. Exams can be taken at over 30 test centres in Germany, Austria and Switzerland or at 150 international testing centres. All courses are taught in English in order for students to learn important specialised vocabulary improve English language skills. Students are able to live and study with international students on campus. The university also provides internships or semesters abroad for students to be able to spend some time studying abroad. The university has partnerships with universities in North and South America, Asia Australia and Europe. There is also an internship integrated into the Bachelor degree programmes which students are able to do abroad.

Description The Robot Learning & Control Lab (REAL Lab) at NYU Abu Dhabi is seeking an outstanding Post-Doctoral Associate to contribute to cutting-edge research in robot intelligence, machine learning, and AI-driven manipulation. This position offers the opportunity to work on real-world robotic systems and develop novel algorithms at the intersection of robot learning, control, and AI for physical systems. The postdoc will work on projects focusing on one or more of the following: Robot Learning & Autonomy – Developing algorithms that allow robots to learn (via exploration or imitation) from interaction, adapt to new tasks, and generalize across environments. Dexterous Manipulation – Advancing robotic grasping, in-hand manipulation, and adaptable object handling in complex real-world scenarios, including those involving deformable objects and uncertain conditions.. Semantic Navigation & Mapping – Designing solutions for robot navigation, for Mobile Manipulators, that integrate environmental semantics and spatial reasoning. AI for Physical Systems – Leveraging machine learning and AI to improve performance, safety, and adaptability of robots, autonomous vehicles, and other intelligent machines. Safe and Certified Control for manipulation: Designing control algorithms that ensure passivity, Lyapunov stability, and safety for human-robot collaboration. Qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD in Robotics, Control Engineering, Machine Learning, AI, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field. Strong focus on robot manipulation learning & control, and differential geometry is a plus. Knowledge of safe control methods including Lyapunov stability, barrier functions, and certified learning frameworks. Hands-on experience with robotic manipulators (preferebly Franka Emika R3 robots) and real-world experimentation. Demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation, research-oriented thinking, and a drive to operationalize robotic systems for real-world tasks. Strong publication record in top-tier venues: ICRA, IROS, RA-L, T-RO, IJRR, CoRL, NeurIPS, RSS, CDC, TAC. Proficiency in Python, C++, ROS, and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary research environment. The African Genome Center (AGC) is seeking to appoint an open-rank faculty member specializing in Population Genomics. This position focuses on investigating genetic variation within and among populations to understand genetic diversity, evolutionary processes, and population dynamics that shape the genomic composition of species. Applicants should demonstrate strong expertise in analyzing population-level genomic data, enabling insights into the distribution and frequency of genetic variation, as well as the ecological, evolutionary, and demographic factors influencing population structure. The successful candidate is expected to have an outstanding publication record in population genomics or closely related fields. In addition, candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach to developing an independent research program, strong collaborative skills, and evidence of interdisciplinary research engagement. This position is embedded within a highly interdisciplinary research environment and offers opportunities to interact with researchers across diverse domains, including genome editing, natural product chemistry, microbial engineering, agricultural and environmental biotechnology, metabolic engineering, and microbiology, among others. Introduction As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.  The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry innovation research project where you will be part of the research team to develop software platforms for supporting multi-user AR/VR applications. Key Responsibilities Participate in the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Undertake one of the three responsibilities: Develop an interactive metaverse application for online education, team collaboration, and workplace training with a focus on real-time interactive simulation. (app developer) Design, build, and implement a multiplayer architecture and backend services for a real-time AR/VR multiplayer system. (network engineer) Design, build, and implement the the game engine for both client and server. (game engine software engineer) Perform testing Perform documentation and optionally publishing paper to international conferences/journals. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Job Requirements A degree in Computer Science or relevant field Experience with software development life cycle For app developer role: Strong knowledge in C++ and/or Javascript for 3D/VR applications (e.g., babylon.js, A-Frame, etc.) will be an advantage Experience in developing XR app for teaching & learning/training. Experience developing optimized modules in C#/C++ within Unity and/or Unreal Engine Experience with database management systems For network engineer role: Experience in computer networking, multiplayer architecture, and backend services Experience in connecting backend to various internal and external services and microservices. About the role King’s College London’s Simulation and Interactive Learning Centre is seeking a Simulation Education Specialist to support the delivery of high-quality, clinically relevant simulation-based education across the Health Faculties. This professional services role acts as a key link between the centre and academic colleagues, helping to translate curricular and clinical requirements into practical, well-designed learning activities that meet recognised standards of simulation practice. You will play a central role in planning, coordinating, and delivering simulation sessions that are educationally sound, operationally feasible, and provide meaningful learning outcomes for students and staff. The post holder will develop, maintain, and manage centre-specific educational resources, documents, and repositories, including exploring opportunities for automation to improve efficiency and resource tracking. By capturing the educational demand from faculties, you will help inform service planning, centre resource development, and potential research initiatives, contributing to the continuous enhancement of simulation-based education across King’s Health Faculties.
