The Role and the Department Research and Innovation Services (RIS) provides guidance, expert advice and hands-on support for all aspects of research and research-related work, including securing funding, working with partners, undertaking knowledge exchange, demonstrating impact, commercialising outputs, ensuring good research practice and supporting professional development. We are seeking a Post Award Finance and Project Officer to join our Post Award Team within Research Operations to support a colleagues maternity leave. You will deliver comprehensive post-award financial and administrative support, ensuring that project leaders and researchers receive timely, expert advice. Your responsibilities will span the full grant lifecycle, from award acceptance and project setup, through financial monitoring and budget management, to final claims, reconciliation, project closure, and preparation for both internal and external audits. Stakeholder engagement is at the core of this role. You will act as the primary point of contact for internal and external partners, facilitating clear communication and effective coordination across departments and funding bodies. You will also regularly review project budgets, income, and expenditure to maintain accuracy and to identify and address any significant variances such as under- or overspending, ineligible costs, or issues with overhead recovery. The postholder has the following key responsibilities: Manage the post-award financial administration of non-research grants, ensuring accurate and timely closure. Prepare and submit financial claims, invoices, and statements in line with funder and institutional deadlines. Monitor budgets, income, and expenditure, identifying and resolving variances, and providing financial forecasts to project leads. Reconcile project accounts, process final expenditure and exchange rate journals, and ensure accurate allocation of income. Ensure compliance with funder terms and conditions, advising stakeholders on eligible expenditure and removing ineligible costs. Coordinate staff approvals with HR, ensuring alignment with project budgets and funder requirements. Calculate and transfer fEC overheads/indirect costs in accordance with approved budgets. Liaise with internal teams (Finance, HR, Departments) and external stakeholders (funders, HEIs, partners) to resolve queries. Maintain accurate, auditable records and ensure financial systems reflect final approved expenditure. Working pattern: Monday - Friday. Hybrid 2 days in the office. Job Purpose At SIT's Professional Officers Division, we bring our rich industry experience and technical skills into our work, creating a better physical environment where learning and innovation take place. We work with teaching programmes and innovation projects to improve the skills of our students and to strengthen & energise our industry and the wider community. A Professional Officer has a combination of job responsibilities relating to the following: participate in and manage innovation projects, manage digital technology related resources, and mentor & facilitate student learning. The Centre for Digital Enablement (CoDE) drives the initiatives to elevate digital competencies for academic staff and students within SIT. It works with various stakeholders, both internal and external, in upskilling digital literacy across the organization through literacy programmes and digital innovation projects in relation to the Digital Learning Spaces (DLS). For this role, you will spearhead the various AI enablement programmes in SIT, manage the AI related resources and initiatives within CoDE, and lead AI projects within SIT and with industry partners to support teaching and learning objectives. You will also be responsible for developing and delivering digital literacy courses to undergraduate students and academic staff as part of the institutional drive to ensure our graduates are ready for a highly digitally-enabled workforce. Additionally, you’ll be required to mentor and facilitate student learning by participating in and managing student projects. Key Responsibilities AI Enablement Programmes Lead and oversee a range of AI enablement programmes to facilitate the growth of AI skills among SIT undergraduate students and academic staff. Develop an AI Competency Roadmap, providing guidance for SIT undergraduate students and academic staff in developing their AI competencies. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AI, ensuring the continued relevancy and currency of the AI enablement programmes and AI Competency Roadmap. Manage AI-related resources within the division such as the administration of software, hardware systems, and equipment. AI Projects Drive AI projects within CoDE to support teaching and learning objectives. Collaborate with industry partners, faculty, Professional Officers and other stakeholders to conduct applied research in AI related technologies. Supervise and mentor students in the development of AI projects. Teaching & Student Mentorship Develop and deliver digital skills literacy related courses or workshops to undergraduate students and staff. This includes development of learning contents and activities, providing consultations on digital skills/technology related queries, and assessment and grading of students’ work. Mentor and facilitate student learning by participating in and managing student projects. Any other matters as directed by Director/Deputy Director of CoDE. Job Requirements A good degree in Computer Science or a related field. Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications would be advantageous. 10+ years of working experience, including at least 5 in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Analytics, or a related area.SIT Internal Proven experience in developing and deploying AI solutions. Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar. Proficiency in data preprocessing, model training, and evaluation techniques. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems. Possess strong supervisory skills and project management skills. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure that the project can meet the milestones adhering to the stipulated timeline. Job Description: The Geology and Sustainable Mining Institute (GSMI) of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) invites applications for the position of Assistant professor in vertebrate or macroinvertebrate paleontology. The Moroccan palaeontological heritage is extremely abundant and diversified. Over 800 million years of sedimentation have yielded one of the most complete and fossil-rich sequences on Earth, from evidences of bacterial life in the Anti-Atlas to the rise of the first modern humans in the Jebel Irhoud.UM6P is keen to excel in scientific research that meets the country's needs and makes the best possible use of its natural resources within a framework of sustainable development. In keeping with its ambition to rank among the world's leading universities in fields such as social responsibility and sustainable development, the university has decided to create a Research Center dedicated to Palaeontology, designed for preserving and improving this paleontological heritage and promoting it through exhibitions and scientific research. The Assistant professor in Palaeontology will be part of this growing team, carrying out high-level scientific research in palaeontology, contributing to the management of the fossil collections and teaching at the university. Job Requirements: Research Skills: Conduct innovative, multidisciplinary research programs on the evolutionary history of organisms and ancient environments; Solid background and publication record in palaeontology, preferably in one of the following topics: non vertebrate metazoan macrofossils (i.e., macroinvertebrates), Mesozoic and Cenozoic chondrichthyans (other fields related to palaeontology, especially palaeontology of Morocco, will also be carefully considered); Proficiency in techniques for the preparation, study, and conservation of fossils; Ability to organize paleontological fieldwork, including prospection and excavation; Lead major field expeditions for collecting new fossils and prospecting for new sites; Proficiency in paleontological and paleoenvironmental concepts to integrate with other research teams; Knowledge or experience in 3D technologies (surface scan, microtomography) will be appreciated. Collection Management: Manage and develop the paleontological collections of the UM6P, meeting international standards; Participate in the inventory and the creation of a digital database; Experience in conservation and scientific management of scientific collections will be appreciated; Teaching and Dissemination: Teach palaeontology at UMP6 doctoral schools, bachelor's, and master's courses. Develop innovative modules based on collections and multidisciplinary research. Supervise MSc and PhD students to develop a pool of high-level palaeontologists.
