Workshop on innovations in digital asset management

Brussels, 12 Sep 2003

The Fraunhofer Institute for publication and information systems will host a workshop on innovations in digital asset management in Darmstadt, Germany, from 6 to 8 October.

There has never been a more pressing need for memory institutions and documentation centres to control and manage their digital assets in an efficient manner. As resources are increasingly created and stored in digital form alone, the management and monitoring of these valuable assets throughout their entire lifetime has become essential.

The workshop will be divided into two distinct parts: a research symposium will present new technologies from a scientific perspective and address mainly IT-researchers, academic developers and information scientists in archives, libraries, museums and documentation centres, while a subsequent business review is intended for industrial DAMS developers, IT practitioners, and users in memory and documentation organisations.
