All Malaysia's 33,870 students entering the country's 11 public universities will have to attend compulsory one-day seminars to improve their understanding of government policies. The move is clearly thought necessary given the widespread support imprisoned former deputy prime minister Anwar Ibrahim has received from university students before and since receiving his six-year jail sentence.
