A court has found eight ear, nose and throat specialists from Italian medical universities guilty of irregularities when they were commission members in competitive exams for university posts in their field between 1989 and 1992. Accused of favouritism, complicity and of assigning the jobs to the offspring of university "barons", the specialists got sentences of between ten and 16 months.
