Spanish students from poorer backgrounds are less likely to choose five-year degrees than their wealthier colleagues, according to a new report. The study, by two Granada University economists, shows that only 8 per cent of students whose parents earn less than Pounds 600 (Pounds 400) per month enrol on five-year courses, while 22 per cent opt for less prestigious three-year diplomas.
