Sacked prime minister Yevgeni Primakov is likely to return to his old post at the Russian Academy of Sciences. Mr Primakov, a 69-year-old Middle East expert and former Soviet-era KGB chief, planned to do research and write a book, official sources said. President Yeltsin dismissed his government this week, blaming Mr Primakov for failing to reverse the country's economic crisis.
