New Zealand's university staff union has challenged moves by Waikato University vice-chancellor Bryan Gould to restructure the university from eight schools into four faculties. An application for an interim injunction was to be heard late last month. Staff accusations that the plans give lower priority to the Maori and Pacific development school are denied by Professor Gould, who maintains his right to put in place management structures to meet the needs of the university.
