WIPO-UPOV Symposium on the Co-existence of Patents and Plant Breeders' Rights in the Promotion of Biotechnological Developments, organized by
the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)
and
the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV)

The Symposium will provide a high-level forum for discussion and analysis. It is expected that it will identify areas for further action to enhance the co-existence of patents and plant breeders' rights in the promotion of biotechnological developments.
The Symposium will be held in Geneva, at the headquarters of WIPO and UPOV, on October 25, 2002. The working languages of the Symposium will be English, French and Spanish with simultaneous interpretation. All interested persons and organizations are invited to attend the Symposium, free of charge. Participants are requested to register before September 20, 2002.
The Symposium will commence at 9.30 a.m. on October 25, 2002, in Room A.
