Who's in, who's out? Warwick

The chance to further advance research at the interface between chemistry, biology and medicine is what most excites Peter Sadler about his appointment as professor of chemistry at Warwick University.

Having spent 11 years at Edinburgh University exploring the boundaries between these disciplines to develop new anti-cancer drugs, he is now ready to build on that work using facilities at Warwick, which he regards as "among the best in the country".

Professor Sadler also plans to attract funding to add more facilities and hopes to expand chemistry at Warwick. He said: "I think young people are coming back to chemistry because they are beginning to realise that there is a bright future for chemists."
