Whistleblowers: Employment bill will be 'disastrous' for victims

Government plans to cut employment tribunal hearings by a quarter will be "disastrous" for unfairly sacked or victimised workers, the judge in charge of the tribunal system has warned.

Judge John Prophet, president of the employment tribunal network, has been reported to have warned that the employment bill, going through Parliament, will block access to justice. It seeks to introduce restrictions to reduce the number of employment tribunal complaints by between 30,000 and 40,000 a year to save employers' money.
