One well-respected political commentator was divining signs of a Tory revival after this year's party conference. Looking beyond the blue-rinses and bespectacled brigadiers, he declared in a national broadsheet that there were a number of promising young turks in the Conservative ranks - possible future leaders no less - including their "impressive" higher education spokesman, "Charles Grayling". Ouch. At a stroke, the hand that penned the compliment snatched it away... no doubt leaving the impressive Chris Grayling to ponder how to make his name better known.
