What's in a name?

After months of wrangling, the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals has finally chosen itself a new and much funkier name.

From now on it will be known as "Universities UK". One committee member who took part in the momentous decision acknowledged: "It isn't ideal, but everyone had got so bored talking about it that they eventually put it through on the nod." The dynamic, go-getting aspect of the committee's rebranding must be still to come, then.
