The Wellcome Trust moved to put itself on a firmer financial footing this week, becoming the first UK charity to win a coveted AAA credit rating.
The AAA rating, from Moody's and Standard and Poor's, allows the trust to issue bonds and to raise money to invest in scientific and medical research in the long term.
