US block on aid heralds drop in fees for UK

Up to 20 UK higher education institutions face losing significant overseas student fees income following a US government move to block financial aid for students who attend institutions without their own degree-awarding powers.

The US Department of Education met with the British Council and the Department for Education and Employment this week to discuss the impact of changes to US Federal Financial Aid legislation.
