The Scottish further and higher education funding councils are doing their bit to promote lifelong learning through the use of an atmospheric landscape of rolling hills in shades of purple.
The image will be plastered over the publications of the two councils, which ministers plan to merge. Anyone collecting a full set of annual reports and corporate plans will find the front covers merge to create the full landscape.
Steven Mitchell, business director of image consultants Tayburn who devised the new look, said: "It's about horizons, opportunities and choices, which we thought was a nice sentiment that brought together the work of further and higher education. It's about having goals, not just wandering aimlessly. That's why there are paths and clear routes."
