Indonesian authorities arrest British academic
British academic Lesley McCulloch, held over an alleged visa violation in Indonesia today tried to reassure her family of her safety. Dr McCulloch, a lecturer at the University of Tasmania, was arrested by soldiers for allegedly contacting separatist rebels in the country. Speaking to BBC Radio Scotland, she said that the Indonesian public prosecutor's office was still considering whether to press charges over a violation of her tourist visa.
