University of Teesside - Upskilling during the downturn

四月 16, 2009

A total of 65 postgraduate bursaries are to be offered by the University of Teesside after it received one year of funding from regional development agency One NorthEast to help attract and retain local talent. The bursaries will fund places on courses ranging from advanced manufacturing systems to computer-aided engineering. They are aimed at employees who were recently made redundant or whose jobs are at risk. "(The bursaries) can provide an upskilling sabbatical until the eventual upturn in the economy," said Paul Shelton, Teesside's assistant dean for education, partnerships and opportunities.
