University of Salford - In pole position for the upturn

After last week's Budget, John Wilson, the head of Salford Business School, said that the economic downturn could help students on business courses. He suggested that when the economy and the job market begin to recover, those with business qualifications will be at the front of the queue when new career opportunities materialise. Professor Wilson said: "The recession won't last for ever, and when the upturn comes it will be those with better qualifications who will be more likely to reap the benefits. The Chancellor's plans for economic recovery outlined in the Budget - and the general UK economic situation - are leading to increasing interest in studying business."
