University of Salford - An ill-advised pause?

Moves to tighten the copyright laws protecting musicians may "lock away" the country's musical heritage, a conference at the University of Salford heard. The conference, held last week, was hosted by David Sanjek, professor of music at Salford, who believes the UK Government's proposal to increase the period before recorded music becomes freely available by a further 20 years may be a mistake.
