University of Oxford - Names to remember

Ten endangered species have been bestowed with common English names. Until now, the species have not been widely known due to their lengthy Latin designations, but now the public has picked informal names for them in a nationwide competition organised by the University of Oxford. Among the winning names were Skeetle, for a beetle that escapes predators using natural "jet skis"; Sea Piglet, for a deep-sea "pseudo-shrimp"; and The Queen's Executioner, for a beetle found only in Windsor Park.
