University of Nottingham - 'Lambrini ladies' losing out

四月 22, 2010

The votes of up to 4 million "Lambrini ladies" are being written off by politicians, according to research. Steven Fielding, director of the University of Nottingham's Centre for British Politics, is lead author of the report, Lambrini Lady - The Forgotten Political Generation. It points to a mixture of disengagement on the part of young working-class women and a lack of political interest in their key concerns, such as the minimum wage, the gender pay gap and affordable childcare. "It may be a cliche, but Britain's political class is now, more than ever, dominated by men, the middle class, the middle aged and the elderly," Professor Fielding said. Lambrini is a perry marketed with the slogan "Lambrini girls just wanna have fun".
