University of Nottingham - CO2 research facility opens

A £1.1 million research centre to explore the technology needed to capture and store carbon dioxide permanently in the ground opened last week at the University of Nottingham. The Centre for Innovation in Carbon Capture and Storage will be a cross-disciplinary endeavour that unites together engineers, bioscientists, mathematicians, geographers and geologists. It is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and is headed by Mercedes Maroto-Valer of the university's School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering.
