University of Nottingham - Birds are bird-watchers, too

The "automatic imitation" effect, whereby humans imitate friends, relatives or a colleague without even realising it, is also present in budgerigars, research from the University of Nottingham indicates. Mark Haselgrove, of the university's School of Psychology, said the results would "help us towards a better understanding of learning processes that have broad implications in both a human and an animal context."
