University of Hull - Mesmerising results

Researchers at the University of Hull have hypnotised university students and studied their brain activity to see if the effect is real. The research, published this week in the Consciousness and Cognition journal, shows that basic brain activity changes when people are hypnotised. The researchers tested students for their ability to respond to a range of hypnotic suggestions, including seeing a cat that was not there and forgetting what had happened to them during the hypnosis session.
