Pupils are being encouraged to become the space scientists of the future via a project linking them with American students to explore the galaxy. The University of Glamorgan is pairing up local pupils with space-science students in New York State and Georgia to allow them to study the sky by directing the Faulkes Telescopes, which are located in Hawaii and Australia. The children's work will include monitoring large stars. The project took off as the first students to sit the new BA Hons observational-astronomy course at Glamorgan arrived on campus.
