University of Essex - Put the kettle on? No need

Researchers are looking for volunteers willing to spend time living in an "iSpace" where household appliances "learn" to turn themselves on and off at the right times. Scholars at the University of Essex have been developing the underlying technological frameworks allowing devices to interact and adapt in changing environments. The university has joined forces with academics and companies in France, Germany and Greece on the project, and are now looking for volunteers willing to spend up to four two-hour sessions in the iSpace.
