A robotic fish that can analyse and monitor pollution in ports will be developed by researchers at the University of Essex. The robotics team at the university will work with academics from its School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering to develop an autonomous "robo-fish". It will be equipped with chemical sensors to find pollutants in the water and will be able to analyse the contaminants in ports, producing a map showing which pollutants are present and where.
