University of East London - Partners in East End history

十一月 6, 2008

A social and cultural history research centre is being relaunched with the aim of becoming one of the UK's most dynamic bases for historical research. In 1995, the historian Raphael Samuel created a centre for East London history in the School of Social Sciences, Media and Cultural Studies at the University of East London (UEL). It will now become a three-way partnership between UEL, Birkbeck, University of London, and the Bishopsgate Institute. Projects will include the history of the Thames Gateway and domesticity in the capital, a London local history database, and "young historians" events in schools.
