University of East Anglia - Architecture schools

九月 2, 2010

A project has been launched to explore and record the surviving Victorian and Edwardian school buildings of rural Norfolk. The University of East Anglia is working with Norfolk Historic Buildings Group on the two-year survey, funded by a £50,000 grant from English Heritage. The project aims to record as many of the 400-plus rural primary schools and former primary schools as possible and then assess their historical and architectural significance. The results of the study will be made available to the public via the Historic Environment Record. The project will also lead to a major exhibition at the Norfolk Record Office and a conference at UEA.
