五月 1, 2008

Plans for a new campus and other new buildings costing £160 million have been announced by the University of Cumbria. The institution - which was formed a year ago through the merger of St Martin's College, Cumbria Institute of the Arts and the Cumbrian campuses of the University of Central Lancashire - has proposed a new £70 million campus in Carlisle in addition to developments in Ambleside, Barrow, Lancaster and Newton Rigg. The new buildings are part of a plan to expand student numbers from 15,000 to 20,000 over ten years. Cumbria has founded several new units, including an institute for transport logistics and a centre for policing and criminal justice.
