University of Central Lancashire - Scholarship carrot for postgrads

三月 13, 2008

A university has unveiled plans to increase recruitment to its postgraduate courses by offering its brightest undergraduates automatic scholarships if they stay on. The University of Central Lancashire, which believes that the plan is the first of its kind in the UK, will offer a scholarship covering the full cost of a standard full-time postgraduate course to every student achieving a first-class honours degree this June. Patrick McGhee, deputy vice-chancellor (academic), said the scholarship scheme would tackle barriers to widening participation as well as improving students' prospects. The scholarship is worth £3,300 and will be available to all UK and European Union students.
