University of Central Lancashire - Olympic standard

五月 14, 2009

A multimillion-pound sports centre is being built at the University of Central Lancashire. The project is expected to cost about £16 million and will create sporting facilities of sufficient quality to be used for training in the run-up to the London Olympics in 2012. The university said the centre would also benefit the local community, with schoolchildren being allowed to use its facilities during the summer holidays. Squash courts and exercise studios will be built, along with a sprung timber sports hall that will feature more than 300 retractable seats, plus a viewing gallery to ensure it can be used for regional and national sporting events. The hall will also double as an examination room.
