University of Bath - Space, the environmental frontier

A group of biologists has set up a research lab in Madagascar to train local students in using satellite technology to monitor and conserve the environment. Peter Long and Tamas Szekely, from the University of Bath's department of biology and biochemistry, have transformed a previously empty room at the University of Toliara into a geographical information science lab in which they train biology graduates to use satellite imagery in conservation and forestry management projects.
