A student from the University of Aberdeen has been awarded a top prize in an entrepreneurial competition. Chris Williamson, a third-year music student at Aberdeen, picked up the award in the Scottish Institute for Enterprise's New Ideas Competition for his creation of a violin peg that enables quicker and easier tuning of stringed instruments. Students and recent graduates in Scotland were asked to submit ideas for a new business, product or invention to take part in the contest. As well as winning a cash prize, Mr Williamson will receive business support for a year to turn his idea into a commercial success.
