University of Aberdeen - Nocturnal goings-on

Actor Ben Stiller spent a night behind the closed doors of a natural history museum in his film Night at the Museum and now the people of Aberdeen have, too. The University of Aberdeen threw open the doors of its Zoology Museum to mark the opening of the Hollywood film's sequel, which premiered this month. Night-time visitors had the chance to get up close and personal with artefacts including an elephant's tooth and a crocodile's skull, and witness a live owl show. Poet Kelley Swain read from her collection Darwin's Microscope. The event was part of the university's Word Extra programme, which hosts events alongside its annual Writers' Festival.
