Unions ballot over forced jobs losses

Staff at Edge Hill College of Higher Education are furious over plans to cut staff and undergraduate provision in underachieving subjects and invest in those recruiting well. Lecturers' union Natfhe said seven teaching posts are to go next academic year and six new posts are to be filled. Staff will ballot for industrial action this month.
