Further education college lecturers will formally submit this year's pay claim to employers today.

Members of the Natfhe and the Association of Teachers and Lecturers are asking for "a substantial percentage increase to all points of the lecturer and senior lecturer scales and associated allowances".

The claim made to the Association of Colleges also includes demands on pay structure, minimum standards of working conditions and casualisation.

The Association of College Managers has also put its claim to the AoC. It wants a 14.6 per cent increase over three years, a revised pay scale, phased movement of business managers to the management spine pay and conditions and joint arrangements with the AoC on examining issues of rewards and remuneration.
