The UK Bioscience Business Plan Competition has been developed by BBSRC in conjunction with the Medical Research Council to encourage the commercialisation of research.
The Competition is open to either individuals or teams of academics, research scientists, postdoctoral scientists and PhD students in all UK universities and BBSRC-sponsored research institutes. The competition aims to both increase awareness of the issues involved in developing a bioscience business and help the formation of new bioscience business ventures.
Those wishing to enter the competition must submit a brief (maximum one page) outline of their business idea by 30 March 2001. The ultimate winners of the competition will receive a prize of £20,000 and two runners-up will each receive £10,000 to assist with further development of their business.
