Turin event to tackle obstacles to innovation

The different perspectives of the science community, the market, policymakers and citizens will be addressed at the TII annual general meeting which will take place in Turin, Italy on 18 and 19 April.

Entitled 'Science, society and the market - meeting the challenges' the event will bring together representatives from each of the sectors to discuss specific issues relating to the relationships between them in the innovative process at European, national and regional levels.

A plenary session will take place on the first day of the event, while parallel sessions dealing with specific issues will take place on the second part of the first day and the whole of the second day. Themes of the parallel sessions include 'science and society - what is being done to bridge the gap?', 'The Sixth Framework programme - a new impulse towards a better entente between science and society' and 'what the market is looking for from Europe's public research organisations'.
