Tough on crime, tough on words

The apparent ease with which fake students can get their hands on thousands of pounds in loans is worrying. Adeleke Adebayo, for example, created 17 bogus identities for himself and used five of them to sign up for courses at London Metropolitan University, garnering £65,000 in loans. Peep is, however, no less concerned that Bill Rammell, the Minister for Higher Education, had to resort to making up words to deal with the fraudsters. In a Radio 5 debate on Sunday, Mr Rammell reassured listeners that the Government would deal "toughly" with those who fraudulently seek student loans.
