THES cleared by PCC over APU reports

九月 11, 1998

Beleaguered Anglia Polytechnic University business school dean Hugh Jenkins has been unhappy about his management style being scrutinised in The THES. A sixth-month investigation by The THES has revealed allegations of nepotism, bullying and mismanagement against Professor Jenkins made by a significant majority of staff in the department where his son, Jonathan, has been working as a lecturer. The university has insisted that Professor Jenkins is innocent of the charges, and that The THES has pursued a vendetta with "inaccurate and biased reporting". The Jenkinses complained to the Press Complaints Commission, accusing The THES of breaching the PCC's code of practice, which insists on accuracy and fairness. The PCC has dismissed their complaint, ruling that "no matters have been raised which show a breach of the code".
