Brussels, 07 Nov 2005

A European conference on 'The demographic future of Europe - facts, figures and policies' will take place in Stuttgart, Germany, on 16 November.

This event is the final conference of the DIALOG project, a Fifth Framework Programme (FP5) project aimed at analysing values and attitudes affecting fertility decisions, perception of advantages and disadvantages of having children, meaning of family and parenthood, aspirations in life, opinions and attitudes towards population policy issues and measures, and the role of government.

The conference will present the results of the Population Policy Acceptance Study, an analysis based on cross-sectional survey data on European practices, attitudes and opinions concerning demographic changes, fertility behaviour, intergenerational exchange of resources and services, and population related policies.
