Internet novices and student

web developers can measure their visual skills at a new online "design IQ" centre.

The test assesses visual and design acumen with 25 questions designed to be fun as well as substantive, and all who take the test immediately receive a score report and a follow-up evaluation.

Morten Sohlberg, head of

Sessions.edu Online School of Design, said: "Visual literacy has become increasingly important in the internet age. It's getting to be as central as textual literacy. People need to communicate graphically as well as verbally to be able to establish a presence in the global online community."

He said the free test at the school's website (www.sessions.edu) should help to equip people with the tools needed in the visual world of the next century. The test is on a 500-point scale. The average score is about 380.
