Tear a strip off sweatshops

Full-frontal nudity hit campuses in the UK, the US and Canada as students stripped to protest against sweatshop manufacturing. Mark Rogers, a PhD student at Durham University, was among those to stand proud and show that they would rather go naked than wear clothes made by exploited workers. The protest was part of the Buy Right campaign organised by student group People & Planet. It calls for institutions to join the Worker Rights Consortium, which monitors human rights abuses by companies supplying goods and services to universities. Jim Cranshaw, corporate power campaigns officer for People & Planet, said: "This campaign aims to use the purchasing power of universities to tell clothing companies that they can't use sweatshops any more."
