Ta ta to Mockintosh

十一月 23, 2001

Charles Rennie Mackintosh is being abandoned by the Glasgow School of Art. The school is ditching the Mackintosh style in its logo and publicity material for a "stunning new corporate identity". This involves each of the school's six units being assigned particular blocks of colours for their marketing purposes, which will then build into a single logo for the entire college. The image is intended to display cohesion through diversity.

It is also a way for the school to distance itself from trashy souvenirs in the city that attempt to capitalise on Rennie Mackintosh designs and are known disparagingly as "Mockintosh".
