Camelia, part of the 'Concerto' consortium of 16 European universities, has organised a symposium on 'Sustainable energy supply for buildings', to be held at Steyr, Austria, on 17 and 18 May.

The symposium aims to develop a best-practice-guide for decision makers for a successful development of sustainable energy supply for buildings. Possible energy sources to be explored include electricity, heat and cold produced by biomass, solar energy, geothermal heat. The socio-economic benefits, such as local employment, acceptance and personal identification, improvement of living conditions, and reaching of climate protection measures, will also be addressed.

The symposium will feature a number of experts in the field of sustainable energy to discuss the issues.
